Skin Cancer Surgery

Skin cancer patients at the Austin Skin Institute are treated with the latest techniques available. Extensive surgical procedures can often be minimized using minor surgery in combination with the latest in immunologic and chemotherapeutic techniques. Because the incidence of malignant melanoma is rising dramatically, Dr. Ladd utilizes the latest in dermatoscopic melanoma screening devices to evaluate your suspicious moles.Your biopsy will then be sent to a lab for testing. When complete, Dr. Ladd will arrange to tell you the result of the biopsy. It usually takes about a week to obtain the result from the pathology laboratory, but can sometimes take longer if special stains are required.
